Dr Asif Iqbal is the President of the Indian Economic Trade Organization, a
business intelligence unit that works towards filling gaps between Academia and
Industry. IETO also serves as a “call to action” for universities regarding the need
to close a widening gap between the Business Intelligence skills of university
graduates. IETO has various Industry Leaders, Business Analysts, Leading
Economists, Retired bureaucrats on board to advise the industry and Academia.
Dr Iqbal spearheads this organization and travels all over the globe bringing in
latest trends of technologies available globally and connect them to Indian
Academia to increase employability and career opportunities.
Dr Iqbal also serves as the Executive Director of the Asian Arab Chamber of
Commerce that builds relations between the Arab and the Asian Continent. He
is on the board of the Latin American Caribbean Federation of India as the
Director and serves as India’s business trade link to the South American
Continent. He is on the board as the Executive Director at the Indo Pacific
Islands Chamber of Commerce where he led India’s first ever official delegation to
Papua New Guinea and Fiji.
Dr. Iqbal studied Architecture in BMS College Bangalore and worked with various
top corporations as a consultant during his tenure. He travels widely to lecture
and as a speaker in the universities.

Dr Iqbal was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in International Business
(Honoris Causa) for writing papers on “Effects of human behavior in Economic
growth and progress of societies”.
He was also conferred a Honorary Doctorate by the University of Jerusalem for his
contribution to various trade and commerce activity between India and Israel
He was conferred by the Civilian honor by the Government of Bosnia Herzegovina
for his outstanding trade collaboration between the two countries.
He was conferred the “Peace for Economy” Award by His Holiness Dalai Lama for
contributing to Economic activities for peace. Mr. Iqbal has been felicitated by
many universities and colleges in the country for contributing to the cause of
bridging the gap between the Academia and Industry.
Mr Iqbal has led Indian delegations to various countries that were first of its kind
for the Country’s Industry. He led the Indian delegation to Latvia with Minister of
External Affairs for the Indo-Latvia Bilateral Relations. Countries like Guyana,
Papua New Guinea, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Japan, Indonesia, Fiji, Suriname, Costa
Rica, Sweden, Turkey, Estonia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Bulgaria to name a few.
He has led delegations to Nuclear Energy Conference in France and signed first of
its kind MOU for Nuclear Education in India for universities, Led Nobel Prize
Delegation to Sweden. He regularly interacts with various Diplomatic Foreign
missions to interact and expedite India’s bilateral relations.
