Mr. Mohan Srinivas was the visionary behind The Green School Bangalore and The Bangalore School, and the steadfast supporter of our founder, Mrs. Usha Iyer, in her dream of creating a learning environment where children are encouraged to think independently, pursue their passions, and become the very best versions of themselves.

A Chartered Accountant by profession and a respected business leader, he combined intellectual rigour with warmth, generosity, and an enduring curiosity about the world. He was an avid reader, a lover of music, films, sports, and storytelling, and someone who believed deeply in lifelong learning. Whether discussing books, sharing stories, mentoring colleagues, or spending time with children, he approached every interaction with enthusiasm, wisdom, and kindness.

At the heart of his philosophy was a simple belief: whatever you choose to do, strive to be the best at it. He often said, “If you're going to be a carpenter, be the best carpenter in the world.” To him, success was not defined by status or profession, but by commitment, excellence, and the joy of pursuing one's chosen path with purpose and integrity.

He believed that every child deserved the freedom to discover what they loved and the encouragement to pursue it wholeheartedly. This conviction continues to influence the ethos of our schools today. Our commitment to nurturing individuality, curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning is deeply rooted in his vision.

To those who knew him, he was many things: a devoted husband, a loving father, a generous mentor, a trusted friend, an inspiring leader, and a passionate advocate for education. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, supported, and capable of more than they believed possible. His generosity of spirit and unwavering belief in others left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Though he passed away in 2016, his legacy continues to guide our community. In honour of his memory and the values he championed, we have installed a bust on our campus as a reminder of the vision, wisdom, and optimism that helped shape our schools.

Every day, through our students, educators, and community, we continue to celebrate his enduring belief that every child has immense potential and that education should inspire them to pursue it with courage, curiosity, and excellence.
