Eco Transport Initiatives at TGSB
At The Green School Bangalore (TGSB), sustainable transportation practices are an integral part of the school’s commitment towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities & Communities and SDG 13 – Climate Action. The school actively promotes environmentally responsible commuting methods to reduce carbon emissions, traffic congestion, and environmental impact.
TGSB encourages students, parents, and staff to adopt eco-friendly mobility practices such as cycling, carpooling, shared transportation, and reduced vehicle dependency. Many students are encouraged to cycle to school wherever feasible, promoting healthy lifestyles, environmental awareness, and responsible commuting habits from a young age.
Employees are also encouraged to utilize platforms such as Quick Ride, HOPR, and other carpooling initiatives to travel collaboratively, thereby minimizing fuel consumption and reducing the institution’s overall carbon footprint.
Through awareness campaigns, sustainability drives, and green mobility initiatives, TGSB continues to build a culture of conscious transportation and environmental responsibility, inspiring the entire school community to contribute towards a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future.
