Leadership, Community & School Spirit

At The Green School Bangalore, we recognise our responsibility to nurture thoughtful, compassionate, and responsible young people who will go on to contribute meaningfully to the world. Guided by our Core Values, we strive to cultivate not only academic excellence but also character, leadership, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose. Our school spirit comes alive through a range of experiences that foster belonging, collaboration, and service.

House System

Every learner belongs to one of four Houses throughout their journey at TGSB. More than just teams, the Houses provide opportunities for learners to build friendships across age groups, develop leadership skills, and contribute to a vibrant school community.

Griffin House (Red)
Representing courage, determination, and strength, Griffin House inspires learners to face challenges with confidence and resilience while standing up for what is right.

Delphin House (Blue)
Symbolising wisdom, creativity, and harmony, Delphin House encourages curiosity, thoughtful action, and a spirit of collaboration.

Raven House (Green)
Representing growth, innovation, and perseverance, Raven House inspires learners to think critically, embrace new ideas, and continue striving towards their goals.

Goffer House (Yellow)
Symbolising optimism, integrity, and joy, Goffer House encourages learners to approach life with positivity, kindness, and a commitment to uplifting others.

The Houses come together for cultural, literary, sporting, and community outreach initiatives throughout the year. While learners earn points for their House, healthy competition is balanced by a strong culture of collaboration, mutual respect, sportsmanship, and inclusivity. The House Championship is awarded at the end of each academic year, celebrating collective effort, participation, and achievement.

Student Council

The Student Council provides learners with an authentic opportunity to develop leadership skills, exercise responsibility, and experience democratic participation. Elected by the student body, the Council serves as a bridge between learners and the school community, encouraging student voice and initiative.

The Student Council comprises:

  • School Captain
  • School Sports Captain
  • House Captains and Vice Captains for each House

In addition, nominated prefects lead key areas such as Academics, Changemaking, and Community Outreach, helping to strengthen a culture of service and engagement across the school.

Buddy Programme

Starting at a new school can be both exciting and challenging. To help learners settle in comfortably, each new student is paired with a buddy who supports them through the transition process. Beyond easing adjustment, the Buddy Programme nurtures empathy, kindness, inclusivity, and a sense of responsibility among our learners.

Assemblies

Assemblies are an integral part of school life and provide a platform for learners to showcase their talents, share ideas, celebrate achievements, and engage with important themes and events. Assemblies may include performances, presentations, guest speakers, festival celebrations, national observances, and award ceremonies.

These gatherings foster a sense of community, belonging, and collective pride, bringing learners and staff together to celebrate the values and spirit that define TGSB.
